Covid Day whatever

Happy 4th of July.

So 1 thru 4 July was pretty much a blur for Tira and I. Clearly we didn’t die from COVID, thankfully.
I’m on Day 8 and have been feeling better day after day. I never felt too bad, so recovery has been pretty easy.
On day 6 I did some laundry, and I did some more this morning. This afternoon I went shopping, filled the truck with gas and filled our propane tanks. I’m hoping to leave soon. Before supper I drove over to Melanie’s house and got a great big daddy hug. It made my day! Since Covid, hugging has been pretty sparce in my world. Thanks Melanie!

Tira is recovering slowly from worse symptoms than me, she’s on day 5 so she is supposed to be ‘healed’ according to the CDC but she’s not. She no longer has a fever but still has a headache, and walking from one end of the camp trailer to the other tires her out. She’s sleeping probably 16 hours a day? But I think that’s good for her. Since she’s legal to go outside tomorrow, we’re leaving, I hope.

We’ve been at the JBLM (Ft Lewis/McChord) famcamp for over 2 weeks so far. Thank goodness when we got sick they let us stay. We were supposed to leave last week and there is a 14 day limit, but here we are day 18 and still here. The people running the campground are fantastic! Really.
The campground however, not so fantastic. Other than small sites and lots of drunk Army people over the weekends, our site has no sewer (we knew that coming in), but as of last Friday, 1 July, we haven’t had any power either!

So if Tira is able, tomorrow morning we blow this popsicle stand.
