Happy New Year

So for the first time in a lot of years it was just Tira and I for New Year’s Eve. We didn’t even have the dog with us because there were so many fireworks going off she was too afraid to come outside.

We spent the day together, playing dominoes and drinking wine, rehashing stories from the past year and making up stories about the new one. Important to us and the topic of a number of stories is the ability to go camping each summer, and being able to see family and see some of the country. This year of course we headed north to WA and it was a good place to be. Next year we think we’ll head east and pass ND on by as we head for Michigan. Of course that’s not a plan yet, just a thought for now.

Recently we’ve spent some talking about moving back up to WA or maybe OR. That’s one more thing on our long list of stuff we talk about but haven’t planned yet. When we actually make decisions I’ll let you know.

It’s been a long year for us and I think for the whole family. Between mom getting sick and the rest of us trying not to, it’s really been rough. I wish a healthy and happy new year for everyone, and if you’re reading this, expect I’ll be seeing you this year. 😉

From Col Sherman T. Potter, in episode 6 of season 9, “A War for All Seasons”, of the TV show M*A*S*H,
Here’s to the New Year: May she be a damned sight better than the old one, and may we all be home before she’s over.
