3rd Weekend in Las Vegas

Now I’m not bragging or pointing fingers, but it was 104 degrees warmer here than in North Dakota the other day. 🙂

This weekend I went for a hike to Arizona Hot Springs. The trail head (TH) is just over 4 miles south of Hoover Dam. It starts from the parking area on the right or south side of the road. Anyway, the walk was about 2 1/2 miles down-hill, and then a quarter of a mile (or less) downstream along the Colorado River.

I don’t have pictures of the hot springs, which are really 3 small’ish pools of varying temperature, all of which are comfortable and relaxing. There were a number of people there. I would not have guessed! Some were camping the night on the side of the river, some had hiked down from the highway, and others had paddled up in canoes or cayaks. There was even a Boy Scout troop camping near by. But the walk was great and the weather was pleasant. On the way up clouds had moved in and the light was very diluted. No direction, now shadows. That makes it tough on pictures. But you be the judge, ok?
