7th Weekend in Las Vegas and I went hiking. Yeah, no surprise, right? All flat walking this week, about 4.5 mile from Pine Canyon to Oak Canyon and back. I went up Oak Canyon a little, maybe half a mile or so.
The weather was great, 70 degrees or so. It was warmer down in the city but it was at least 5 or 10 degrees cooler in the hills. Plus, there was little or no wind in the canyons. On a day like this the weather is park like and wonderful. Calm and warm. But in the heat of summer I’m sure no wind means no cooling.
But today? Today was superb.

Here is where I was hiking. Very little elevation change, maybe 400 or 500 feet, I wasn’t climbing, just walking.
