Still, Tira wants to know what is going on!  Damn!

 – I’m working my ass off

– the wind is howling!  It hasn’t let up for weeks.  remember the canoe trip (go review…)  Tonight, winds up to 30 mph.  Winds like this mean crappy riding weather and dust.  Leave your window open?  dirt and dust cover everything.

– In Vegas, they found a dead body tonight in a sewer drain, 2 houses burnt to a crisp because the wind kept the FD from putting out the blaze, I-15 was blocked this morning for hours because a dump truck lost it’s load of rock on the freeway.  Oh, there are 30 car accidents a day in this city.

– a friend of mine’s son has been getting text messages from a predator.  her son is 17, the predator is 27, lets see what the cops do about it.

– at least i’m not in Virgina (ummm… go watch the news… tornados, dead bodies, crappy weather?)

– news right now (10pm) clocked wind gusts up to 47mph in places around town today

– searchlight NV?  54 MPH wind today

– I am a home owner… bank signed the papers today, loan paperwork is coming, my money is going, I’m a home owner.  More news and addy to come

–  it was officially, 91 F today in Las Vegas

– Gas is $3.65 a gallon for regular today  (“regular” is the lower grade unleaded, as in regular unleaded vs high-octane unleaded, the mature readers among us will recall when “unleaded” became a thing and we had to use the word “regular” to differentiate between unleaded and regluar “leaded” fuel)

– Did I mention I had a flat in the truck?  ran over something sharp… or maybe it was dull, can’t tell for sure.  All I know is is left a gash in the edge of the tread in my tire.  Haven’t taken it to a shop yet, I’m afraid they’ll tell me it’s shot.   I put the spare on, lots of tread there.  If this is shit I’ll just have the spare mounted and start running it.  The other tire that keeps going flat?  no prob.  I’ll just remember to put air in it.  I don’t need new tires but thank you.

– Right now at work I am responsible for 2 Air Force Bases.  Not the whole base,  just the people that do the same job as I do (flying squadron support).  Between Creech and Nellis AFB there are over 100 people in my career field (my job) that I have to work with.  Well, I’m busy at work because Creech AFB is finally growing up and it looks like my job is splitting (visualize a single cell organism splitting) and I won’t be quite so in charge.  I would be offended if Creech didn’t ask for my opinion as they discover their independence, but I’m looking forward for loosing a little of the workload.  On the other hand, Creech has to pick up half of my workload and to do that they’ve taken my best worker.

– Ok, hope Tira is happy.  It’s late and I’m tired.

– Ok, hope Heather has decided on a college.  Decisions are hard.  I only wish we either didn’t let her make decisions or gave her better tools to use.  Or I wish she’d say “daddy, what do I do?”, I could help her.
