Appliances

need new appliances and can’t afford new… so buy used!  In memory of Donna we went garage sailing this weekend and bought new kitchen appliances.  Not sure it was a good idea, but well, did it anyway.  They’re used, and they were not cheap, but inexpensive.  Just so long as they continue working, I’m happy!

And we got a matching (Maytag) over the oven microwave w/ a hood.

  1. In honor of me???!!! What were you thinking ! I do garage sales, I don’t GO to them! Congrats on some nice looking stuff. We do m0st of our second hand buying on Craigslist. We have a freezer (no two) two washer and dryers units that run on 110 electricity, and other stuff and we have sold a washer, dryer, refrigerator, trailer, car, you know, stuff, on craigslist. It’s my favorite medium. If I have something I’m desperate to sell, I do a good posting and then have a link to many, many pictures on google/picassa/*** .com that they can see.
    Party on with the appliances!

  2. thanks. i’m a craigs list fan too, but i have to tell you a HUGE percentage of ads here in vegas are scams or spams or just outright lies. craigslist comes with a HUGE buyer beware caveat here.

  3. Scott, I was wondering….did you really go sailing or selling? What is the proper word?? Saling, Selling??? Sailing doesn’t seem to fit. We live in a desert you know and well, I didn’t see you on any boats on Sunday. Although you and Nicholas went out on your bikes. Maybe you connected kites and then you could call it sailing. 🙂
    hehe.

By the way! I LOVE MY NEW STUFF.
    THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. luvu2! but it really is “garage sailing”… of course it depends upon how fast you go thru….. me and the nic’man? we SAIL! I mean we’re in and out in seconds… clothes? NYET… dishes? NYET…. baby stuff? NYET…. out in seconds!
Tools? hai! trucks? hai! bikes or car parts? hai!!!!!

    Garage Sailing…

(oh, “hai” is YES in japanese… and japanese is “Nihon” in japanese… on the other hand, NYET is no in Russian)

  5. Hey!
Hai is hurry or “snap to!” in Romainian! Fun, and it’s actually. . . garage sale’ing (garage sale shopping). To verify, ask Laura, she knows it all! Tira, you are smart – scott. . .

It sounds like you and Nic check out garage sales like Ron and I do, however we do them at 55!

By the way, nu is no in romanian, da is yes in russian and romanian. And Hai s? mergem! is hurry, lets go!

When I see a garage sale sign I just keep on at 55 and don’t slow down for it!

  6. Nicholas and I went garage sweeping yesterday. Garage sweeping is like garage sailing, but it happens later in the day.
To Garage sail, the garage sale must be open. You do the quick stop and search and move on.
To Garage sweep, you have to wait for the sale to close and you sweep through to see if they’re giving away the unsold stuff.
We picked up a few nice items. 😉
