10 May and 2 weeks to go!

I go home in 2 weeks!

Did a cleanup project at Mt. Charleston today. It’s wonderful, a very pretty area. But I don’t think I’ll be spending a lot of time up there. Everyone tells me how great it is… but that’s the problem… “everyone” means thousands of people. It’s a big area, but not that big! However, it is cooler! Nearly 20° cooler up there than down here. If it’s like that when the temp hits 100° here it’s only 80° there? I guess that would explain it’s popularity. Why is it cooler? Because I went over 8,437 feet today and let me tell you the temp was in the 60’s and I was COLD! 😉 By the way, for the math impaired? 8,437′ is 1.6 miles up! Took the bike of course (remember, cheap on gas?) It still cost me $12 just to drive out there, about 120 miles round trip.

Went by the new house and watered the grass a couple of days ago. Everything looks great! Keep your fingers crossed financing goes well and nothing happens to screw up the deal. Tira and I will be on the road when the house closes so that will add additional problems.

My trailer is a pit. I wish I was more motivated to clean it up!

Heather graduates High School on May 25. Next year she going to college at Valley City University. A 4 year ND state college in Valley City, 59 miles west of Fargo, and over 100 miles from Grand Forks.

Looks like I get to go TDY to the Pentagon in July. I’ve never been there, I’m very excited.

Also have a TDY coming up next Nov to Virginia… I think. I’ll learn more later where it’s being held.

I have a new software program that makes panorama so forgive me if I play around… 🙂

The image is really big so I didn’t want to post it, but if you care to see the parking lot (campground) where I’m staying click the link. I think I’ll do the same thing tomorrow morning and actually show my camper. I was standing behind it for this shot.

  1. Hey brother no offense but . . . WHERE IS THE GRASS? and are you really close enough to see, hear and feel your neighbors? Looks that way!

  2. Ok, you forgot to mention that not only is Heather’s college only 5o miles from Fargo…..it’s 5 states away from us….;-(

We are going to miss her but I am really looking forward to our summer with Heather.
