ND to NV Day 2

Center of the Nexus
Center of the Universe

We got a hotel last night, thought about camping out on the trip down but someone forgot to tell this part of the country that it’s summer.  May 8 and it was 38 last night in ND, supposed to be about the same tonight in WY only with a chance of rain showers.

Ummmm…   it’s 95 in Las Vegas… what’s wrong with this place?!?!?

We started through SD and stopped at the center of the continet.  No problem, most things revolve around me, so well, it was only natural I would end up here where all known physical matter in the nexus revolves around a single point in space.

We had an exciting day sight seeing.  We went to Mt.  Rushmore, Wind Cave (didn’t get to tour the cave but we walked through the prarie there and did get to read about the discovery of the cave), and the Crazy Horse monument.  Lots of driving on back roads through the Black Hills and across most of SD down to WY.  We’re stopped in some podunk town outside Cheyenne.

The car is doing great and is getting about 24 MPG.

We’ve seen mule deer, antelope, buffalo, prarie dogs, voles, mountain goats, and of course horses, cows, sheep, dogs, 1 cat and lots and lots of birds.  I really enjoyed the drive, the weather was great except for a little snow a few times but it was 40 to 45 degrees and didn’t stick at all.  Most of the time though, it was sunny or mostly sunny.

A couple of pictures below, i’ll post a link to a full load of trip pics later.
