Ok, for all you nay-sayers… the car is just fine.
Ok, sure… the radiator overflow tank has a lot of oil in it and oh sure, the radiator had traces of oil in it but I flushed the radiator 3 times, changed the oil twice, and put over 100 miles on the car.
There is nothing wrong with it.
Impossible to believe but I am firmly convinced that the rocket scientist I bought the car from or his significant other, actually poured a quart of oil into the radiator overflow because… umm… because they’re stupid? I can’t guess. Could be something that was done by a repair shop to cheat them, who knows.
I only know that I cleaned and checked and tested and cleaned and checked again and I can find no problems at all with the car motor. And the more I think about it… there is no way oil got into the overflow w/o going thru the radiator… and like I said above there was a “trace” of oil in the radiator… a trace as in a sheen. yet in the overlfow it’s thick and gunky. Almost as if oil was poured directly into the overflow… hmmm…..

Does this mean you can drive it?
oh yeah, almost 200 miles on it since I bought it… something is shaking in the front end… tire? tie rods? steering?
I’ll look into it but for now yeah, it drives fine.
In fact I took Nicholas out driving tonight and taught him how to drive a stick! 🙂
and boy was Melanie pissed!! She didn’t get her lisence until like 17 or something… mostly because I couldn’t afford to insure a 16 yr old. You’ll recall that Heather got her drivers license at age 15… and now Nic is learning to drive at age 14…. but Melanie???? yeah… 17 years old.
