woe is me….

Well, I left our new puppy in ND with Heather.

Heather just graduated college on 11 May from MSUM, and was happy that the Alvar clan descended on her home town. Of course I think she was just as happy to see us leave. πŸ™‚

Unfortunately I left our new dog with her while I flew home to Las Vegas to (finally) outprocess from the military. After almost 29 years they are letting me go…. finally. It was delayed 2 months with my cancer surgery…. I’m going in for a THIRD surgery next week… I hope the AF doesn’t find out because they might want me to wait to retire, AGAIN.

πŸ™

So I left our dog… my truck… our camper… in Fargo when I flew home last week to outprocess from the military… Heather is such a good sport… “sure dad, I’ll watch the dog for you for a week”.

Sorry Heather… looks like it’ll be two weeks. πŸ™‚
Tell Jeremiah I’m sorry too.

They found yet another lump… growth… thing… and have decided to excise the demon from my body so I’m not really flying back to ND this week. Sorry, (again). If all goes well I’ll fly up following the surgery and pick up the dog…. (really, THANKS Heather… we love you), the truck… and our camper. I’ll stay in ND a couple of days (sorry Jeremiah) before I head south.

The route is up in the air… long term plans called for me to drive from ND to WY, (YellowStone NP) and then home. Tira was going to (hopefully) join me in MT or WY, where we would tour Yellowstone together and eventually drive home. Again… all plans are out the window and we’ll see…

More going on than just me… Nicholas is 17 and might be working at a BoyScout camp… or he might not. My surgery might be successful and I can leave… or it might not. Tira is taking a teacher course over the summer that might allow her to spend some time with me and Nicholas… or it might not. This might be the hottest year on record in Nevada…. (it was nearly 100 degrees in Apr)…. or it might not…

Lots up in the air here. Thanks for reading and sharing my doubts with me. Will know more in a couple of weeks when I fly up to ND to get my dog, the truck, and our camper… or not.

Me???

I’m expecting sunny skies, gentle breezes, 85-90 degrees, and peace throughout the land.
And well… we’ll start from here.

Thanks for reading,
-scotty

  1. I don’t know how you can make such news enjoyable to read, but that’s what you did. Thanks for that! You are an inspiration, Bug. And if I could, I would write a song about it so you could listen to it to help keep your mood spirited and bright! I’m going to have to work on that. We sure love ya, and Kenny and I are both praying for you and sending posititve thoughts your way!
