The weather finally cooled a little so we took off early from Fairchild and did about 7 hours across the ID panhandle, past Missoula to the Clearwater area, off of MT200. We dry camped on the side of Blanchard lake and though it was about 90 when we got there it cooled off quickly as the day ended.
We’ve been lucky over the years to find some really nice boondocking sites and this one was in that category, if it wasn’t going to be high 90’s again I’d have liked to stay here for a couple of days.
My ankle is hurting pretty good but Penne and I went for a very short and pleasant stroll the morning we were supposed to leave and these are pictures from that walk.
