Last night, Nicholas was voted SPL by his Boy Scout Troop!

SPL?????  Senior Patrol Leader

The SPL is the senior scout and leads the boys in the troop.  He is the spokesperson, the guide, the voice of maturity and reason, the seasoned veteran teaching and leading by example the other 35 boys in the troop.

Senior Patrol Leader is a position of respect and authority within the troop and across all of Boy Scouting.  At Camporees and Jamborees he is the one who speaks for the troop; he leads all troop meetings, briefs the adult committee supporting the troop, and guides the other troop leaders during his PLC (patrol leader council) meetings.

Ok, so sure there are adults helping guide, and there are 3 previous SPL’s in the troop to help him, but this is NICHOLAS!!!  He is so doing so great in scouting!  🙂
