Merry after Christmas! We all had a great time. Grandpa and Grandma were here, everyone is happy and healthy, and well, it’s Christmas!

The day after Christmas, we did the grand auto tour of Red Rock Canyon. It was COLD! or we would have gotten out more, but it was still nice. We started at Calico Basin Red Springs with a short walk on a board walk (the Red Spring Boardwalk) that circled a small glade surrounded by red and white cliffs. There are 3 springs in the area, all seeping from the base of the red sandstone Calico Hills.
We left there and drove the scenic 17 mile loop through the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation area. The drive was great with slanting light and bright hills it was extremely picturesque. We got out here and there but not as much as we would have liked because of the temperature.
This picture was taken at the sand stone quarry, just beyond the calico hills view points.
Thanks for the pics! My favorite is dad sleeping with y’all standing behind him. I’m glad for you to have had this opportunity with the parents! – But I missed them!
I gotta tell you, the alert Susie pic? where you say she is watching for food? Not so, she is waiting and looking for her present.

you know that might just be true! susie helped with a couple of present including a few for the kids. she didn’t open them… but she did leave tell-tale teeth marks!
I had to laugh at her opening her gift. Chloe (our fat and lazy beagle) was so interested in what the crazy dog (her words, not mine) was doing, that she almost sat up to watch but got tired and took a nap instead.
I am so glad Larry and Charon were here for Christmas. It made our Christmas so wonderful. I hope they come back again. 🙂
