So this was a bad start to an otherwise lovely morning…. about 9am a Forest Service fire truck drove through and told us they were going to fire danger Stage-3 and were going to close the entire Kaibab National Forest!WHAT?!?!?!? Went for a hike last weekend, near Red Rock. Started out across the highway from the park in NV, outside of Las Vegas. Parked at the Cowboy Trails horse rental. Trail is called Rock Garden Trail, and is an easy walk of 2 miles or so. Horses and bicycles also use this trail area and so the trails are wide and easy to follow.
