recent news, one long post

Last night I (scott) bowled a 234 in my league, today I bowled in a bowling tournament and my high game was 165. I was pretty frustrated.

Today we got our first big snow of the year, 5 inches so far. Nice thing about snow, it warms up when it snows. The temp today was 18 degrees, that highest its been in over a week or so.

Today, Heather went to Fargo for a debate tournament. She won one debate and lost two. She left home at 5:30 this morning.

Today, Melanie went to Fargo for a dance competition. Her team was third of 4 teams. She said they did really well. Melanie left here at 6:30 this morning and didn’t get home until 10pm.

Tomorrow I’m in a singles and a doubles bowling tournament downtown again, wish me luck. After today’s performance I think I’ll need it!

Last night, Friday, Nicholas fell at the skating rink and we were afraid he had broken his elbow. This morning it was still swollen but he could move it better than last night. He’s also developing quite a bruise. But, we don’t think it’s broken, we really hope not!

Thursday, both girls went down to Valley City (by Fargo) for the “Easter Division Band Competition”, it’s a solo contest, by invite, for local area bands. Of course local area is subjective, there were schools hundreds of miles apart at the competition.

Melanie got “2 stars” for her Clarinet performance. She played Menuet, by Mozart. 2 stars is the second highest rating that a student can earn. Not too many Sophomores receive multiple stars.

Heather competed with both the flute and the piccolo. Her flute piece earned one star, while her picollo song earned 2 stars. Only a few students played multiple instruments, it is quite an honor that Heather starred in two different instruments!

btw, Fargo is 99 miles away… and did I mention it’s snowing?
