Wyoming

We’re in Cheyenne WY tonight.  On our way to Salt Lake City Utah in the morning.  Yesterday we left Grand Forks (the city) at 11:30 and it was a 10 hour drive so naturally it took us 12 hours and we arrived at our hotel at 11:30 pm.  It was after midnight when we got settled and into bed.

Back up at 0630 and out of the hotel and packed by 8 or so.  We stopped for breakfast, we stopped for bathroom breaks (two), we stopped to fax papers on the new house… and we made poor time.  But we arrived safely despite some heavy rain.  Had dinner at Perkins (I don’t recommend it 🙁 ) and we had dessert at Baskin Robbins Ice Cream ($1 scoops on Tue! 🙂 )  We spent an easy 10 hours in Nebraska, let me tell you this is one big ass state!  We also went by substantial tornado damage from some storms last week.

But everything is going well.  The kids are happy, (ok, not happy, but they are curteous to each other) and the pets are fine.  We are towing a small u-haul trailer and all of our luggage is out there so the van has nothing but us.  That is very nice.  It’s neat and roomy enough for the 5 of us.  My only real complaint is the rain.  It has rained on and off the last 2 days and my damn u-haul trailer leaks around the door frame.  Not a lot, but enough to get stuff at the rear of the trailer wet.  That includes suitcases and the clothes in them!

I’m not doing pics of the trip, that is up to Melanie so I’ll get her to post a couple.
