Quiet weekend

Quite weekend in Las Vegas. Saturday Nicholas had went to a Cub Scout crossover, where the Webelos move up to Boy Scouts and he was there to welcome them to the troop.
Sunday Nicholas is supposed to do volunteer hours in the evening working at the parade of lights. They’re doing light tests so the boys will help other volunteers check the lights for burnt out bulbs before the display is opened to the public.
Scott has a head cold and is grumpy.
Tira is getting over hers, but still isn’t 100%.
Melanie’s band is finally over. She was doing practice 2 nights a week and then marching band competitions on the weekend. The final big competition they made the finals and came in 12th overall and 5th in their class? I’m sure I buggered the numbers and she’ll correct me. Anyway, tons of hours into band, I’m glad for her grades that it’s done.
Melanie went to a movie last night with some friends. The movie theaters here are in casinos. There are only a few stand-along theaters that I’ve seen. I’m sure there are some in the older parts of town but up north here, nope. I’m not keen on her hanging out in the casino, or even near the casino. The theater is to the side and she doesn’t really go thru the casino, but I just don’t like it. Oh yeah, and it’s like $10 to get in, too.
Tira is doing well and fitting in at school. There is always a transition period when you move and start a new job but she’s doing fine. She has spent some time decorating her classroom that she shares with the other reading teacher in the school. Nicholas spend a weekend up there helping her a couple of weeks ago. I’ll get her to put up a couple of pictures.

  1. You kind of got the numbers right. 12th place and 4th in our class. there are 8 bands in our class. so not too shabby. And my grades are not so bad. I’ve got A’s and two B’s. so they could b worse.
