un-News

Well, my sister is on my case so I better post.  It’s a new month and the weather in Las Vegas is hanging in there… and I like it.  We’re on about a week straight of blue skies and 80°.  I like it.

Nicholas is part of 2 Boy Scout troops.  His normal troop, Troop 555 (website: www.troop555.us) and also a “Jamboree” troop.  The Jamboree troop, Troop 948, is a temporary troop that was established over a year out from next years Boy Scout 100th Anniversary, Jamboree Celebration.

Nicholas is leaving for Jamboree 19 Jul and will be back 4 Aug (Melanie’s Birthday!)  That’s a week traveling and sightseeing around the east coast, and a week at Jamboree 2010.  I understand there will be only like 43,000 scouts and scouters (adult leaders) there so it’ll be a small event…  🙂

Melanie recently took her SAT and ACT tests (again) so we’re anxious to see how she does there.  She’s playing in her band still and applying for scholarships for next year and burning gas in my car.  That’s ok, her mom is burning gas in my truck!  🙁  But I’m good, I get to drive around in the $900 convertible with a bad head gasket.

Melanie went to the homecoming dance a couple of weeks ago, I think I’ve got a photo around here, I’ll post it in a second.  Not much else there, she’s got friends and homework and a cell phone… what more is there?

see you soon,
-scott

  1. Scott,
What power I still appear to hold over your head. . . hmmm, are you still scared? Thanks for the update!

The weather here is getting to be that fall “changeable” stuff. Most days have any and all weather patterns available. If you don’t like it now, you will in a few hours! But today is going to be clear and warm – relatively speaking (65). I think Autumn is my favorite season. I kept trying to get Ron to be sick today so we could run away to the mountains, but he didn’t cave into my pressure.

Yesterday, I worked outside most of the day, the only thing I didn’t do was blow the leaves off the top of Joe’s house, carport, and workshop – I just can’t get on a roof using a ladder, afraid of the ladder falling with me on it.

You didn’t mention how you were (just commented on your $900 car with the blown head gasket) and how Tira is. . . .just keeping up.

The parents have headed south. . .Matt and Leslie are looking for a house to buy. . .Joe and Johanna are still renting ours – everyone is well and I got two flu shots.
