We took off this morning on the first day of our summer vacation. It’s also my birthday! I turn 60 today, but you’d never know it because I’m so youthful and spry. (LOL)
Actually, I’m really feeling my age lately.
So our goal for the day was to make it to Walker Lake, outside of Hawthorne NV, and about half way to Reno. We did make it just fine, it’s 300 miles and the whole day was about 7 hours with stops. The only problem was the gas mileage… It seems I’m really affected by wind and we had a pretty good head wind most of the day. I’m sad to say my truck averaged 5.9 mpg today. 🙁
At 5 to 6 dollars a gallon that is going to add up fast.
