Snake River and Idaho (part 2)

So we decided that morning to leave and did a quick search of our options.  We settled on Farewell Bend State Park.  It’s NW of Boise near the Oregon border.

Tira and I stayed here a few years ago, I think 2017, and it was okay back then. Today with a few more years behind us, I’d say it was better than just okay. We found a site that was open for 2 days for us, actually it was open for 4 days and we figured we would stay two and decide what we wanted to do after that.

Well day two it pounded rain. In fact there was a flash flood warning for this region of Idaho and Oregon. Needless to say, we weren’t packing up and heading out. So we checked the internet quickly and discovered our site was still available and booked it for the next 2 days.

So, for 4 days we sat right here! We spent one day getting settled in, the dog and I went for a walk, and it was a lovely evening. The next day it rained heavily, all day. The next day we headed up the Snake River on the Idaho side where we grabbed at geocache or two, and found a small beach where we could sit and swim and soak our feet for a couple hours in the sun. On the last day we went for a drive on the Oregon side of the river, again picked up a geocach or 2, did a little sightseeing, and headed home to get cleaned and packed up for the next journey.
